WSPRLite Classic SB

I had WSPRLite in a box for over a few months, almost forgotten. Yesterday I activate this tiny TX for WSPR. Now I didn’t need my pc, I don’t need software, I have less power consumption. I can run it for max 30 days.

With DXporer I can see my reports, can make a comparison with a radio amateur with e.g. the same power level. Now after one day I was surprised that 20 meter was open late in the evening between 23 hour and 0:00 hour. I was spotted by several stations in the USA with my 200 mW.

I like WSPR as a tool for propagation research. Now I use 200 mW (max power) but I can go lower to 5 mW. That will be nice when the sun cycle is at the top again.

Leuk speledingetje. 73 Paul

  3. Hi Paul. I really should get one of those little guys. No strain, no pain just connect it to the Par antenna and see what happens. An itch I really should scratch. Stay well. 73 Dick F8WBD

    1. Hi Dick, just a little play toy. 75 euro's. It's interesting to see how propagation on my favorite band is (20m) I guess all is well with you, stay safe, 73 Paul

  4. Good evening Paul, very nice unit and the stats that you can get from it are amazing it sure can help out with propagation. Very nice video thanks for posting it and it was very nice to watch.

    1. Hi Mike, thank you. It's a nice little unit and it runs now for 3 days, night and day. The stats gives more insight how propagation is. Have a nice weekend, 73 Paul

    2. Hi Paul,

These units open up world of interesting possibilities - and questions! 20m will now be open most of the evening as the sunlit ionosphere is always visible from our latitude. These are particularly useful for field deployment, so you can test different ground and location characteristics (try it from the beach!) When comparing your results, be sure to check different distance ranges with DXPlorer = someone may appear to be stronger than your antenna, until you look at DX stations, when you may become the better station. Enjoy!

    3. Hi John, there are a lot of possibilities with this toy. Also antenna testing, holidays, and when cycle 25 is increasing, see what happens then. I was instantly in love with WSPR since 2008. I like the beacon function. Have a nice weekend, 73 Paul
