Noctilucent clouds

For the first time I was happy to see Noctilucent clouds, or night shining clouds, are tenuous cloud-like phenomena in the upper atmosphere of Earth. They consist of ice crystals and are only visible during astronomical twilight. Noctilucent roughly means "night shining" 75 - 87 km high in our atmosphere.

  1. Ja Paul, het was dit keer zo helder dat het gewoon niet gemist kon worden. Heb er ook erg mooie foto's van...73, Bas

  2. Wonderful image - you benefit from slightly deeper twilight than I get in Wales. Very interesting potential propagation effects at 12m and 6m.
