Sometimes nice things happen. Like today on 2 meters. A tropo opening above France and Belgium. As the regular readers know, I have simple antennas for HF and VHF. Most of the time I work QRP or low power. With my cross dipole for 2 meter (and 70 cm) I did work F4DZF in JN16gb 744 km (462 mi) with FT8. My report was -10 dB my power 5 watts. This QSO made my day.
At the left you see my end fed wire for HF, 7 meters up as sloper. In the middle my small vertical for 2 meters and 70 cm. At the right my cross dipole for 2 meter/70 cm.
