I have been hanging around on VHF lately. Good tropo conditions at 2 meters and sporadic E-layer at 6 meters or 10 meters. With the solar minimum, there is little to expect spectacularly at HF. Now at 2 meters with FT8, which does really well, I can work stations that I could not work before. I am going to replace my 6 meter antenna for a simple 2 meter antenna omnidirectional horizontal polarized for CW, FT8 and SSB. 6 meters is only useful here between April and August. Not for the rest of the year.
