With low SFI nowadays the best band is 40 meter. I fired up WSPR this morning to see what I can do. I decided to use “QRO” 5 watts. ON4CDJ Patrick mentioned the C3 Vessel with a WSPR beacon on board of the ship with 0,2 watts. They do a 150-day sailing voyage around the Canadian coast – the longest coastline in the world. More info: https://www.qrz.com/db/CG3EXP. Yes, I spotted CG3EXP on 40 meter with -24dB SNR.
Best DX this morning was W4ENN in Alabama, USA. Distance: 7083 km | 4401 miles. Other stations beyond the big pond: K4EH, K9AN, WB3DZC, WB3HWN, N4TVC, N2EJT, KK1D, WA9WTK and VE3GHM.
I did some CW CQ calls on 20 meter 14060 KHz without any results. Though I like digimodes experiments, still I love to do CW my old favorite mode. In the seventies and eighties I was mainly active with CW my only mode. So I keep up the CW skills daily on 40, 20, 10 or 6 meter.
