One of my favourite modes is JT9 for sure. I think it will be good to test this mode during the solar minimum. For weeks the propagation was poor or fair on HF. It is a challenge to make a QRP qso with just a moderate antenna like a wire or vertical. Today I was on 20 meters and I saw some signals with JT9. I worked SM4GRP (photo) with JT9, he was using 30 watts and a vertical, I was running 5 watts into my end fed wire. After this qso I saw the signal of RX9FK, I worked him, though his signal strength was -26 dB. Distance 3201 km. Later on I saw the signals fade out again, a very deep and strong QSB.
