80m JT65A

Though conditions are poor / fair on the lower bands, I tried JT65A on 80 meter tonight with my 3 band HyEndFed antenna which is made for 40-20-10m. I worked 9A3BWW -6dB # -14 dB. 1221 km. So I am very pleased with this qso. I also worked GW3TYI and DF2MR on 80 meter.

  1. Very nice 80M contacts in any mode, Paul. I presume you are using a tuner to load your non-resonant end-fed wire. 80 meters will be more useful as winter approaches AND higher bands become less effective as this cycle deteriorates. 73 Dick

    1. Hi Dick, indeed you are right. The coming years will be of the lower bands. I use a MFJ-925 for tuning my end fed antenna. 73 Paul

  2. Good morning Paul and as Dick has noted very nice contact! I have been reading on other blogs that 10,15 and 20m are beginning to come alive. That's good for me as I have been off the radio for just over a week as conditions have not been all that great.

  3. Hi Paul,

Hope you have enjoyed the QSO as much as I did. I was using a HyEndFed antenna during our QSO as well. Really a great thing and highly recommended.
