Denise again

Video of 'DA', also known as Denice Stoops, the first female telegrapher who worked at KPH until the end of commercial morse operations and closure of the station in 1998. I like the swing and rhythm of telegraphing by Denise.

Last night I worked FR/DL6FO from Reunion Island on 30 meter with JT65. This morning I had a nice CW qso with Reg GI4BBE from Northern Ireland on 40 m, I was running qrp 5 watts.

  1. Good morning Paul, very nice YouTube video she seems to send code with ease. As for me I am in deep concentration as I am sending. She seems to just be looking around like it's an everyday conversation!

    1. Hello Mike, yes me too. After all those years I have to concentrate me when I do CW. Still I make wrong dits and dashes with the electronic key. Aaargh... 73 Paul

  3. Hi Paul, I've seen other videos of this lady at the key. I think she is now some sort of official at the station but not sure. Lots of good female ops during WW2. High-speed Brit women intercept operators provided info for Bletchley Park at the time. Many a convoy escaped total destruction thanks to their efforts.

  4. Ja, diverse video's gezien van haar. Die kent morse als 2e taal. Ik wil toch ooit ook eens weer met morse aan de gang. Ook je vorige filmpje van 1944 is inspirerend. 73, Bas
